October Blog: Exploring Nocturnal Animals and the Starry Sky! 

            October was such a wonderful month in our classroom! The children are really starting to settle into our daily routine and becoming more familiar with our class schedule. This month brought lots of exciting activities and new experiences. We began music therapy, social group time, speech therapy, and even dog therapy and the kids adjusted beautifully to all the changes!


            We also had some extra-special events this month. Our Halloween trick-or-treating day was a big hit, parents joined us, and the kids had so much fun showing off their costumes and collecting treats around the school. To top it all off, we enjoyed a Family Partnership Day at the farm, where everyone got to explore, play, and make wonderful fall memories together.


    This month’s theme was all about the nighttime sky and our nocturnal animal friends! The kids loved learning about animals that come out after dark like owls, bats, and raccoons. We talked about what makes them special. We read cozy bedtime stories, created sparkly star art, and explored what we might see if we looked up at the sky at night.


        The kids got super creative making colorful planets and swirling galaxy art that sparkled just like the real night sky. We also made the cutest raccoons. Each project let the kids explore textures, colors, and shapes while connecting to our nocturnal and nighttime theme. Our room looked like a mix between outer space and a forest at night by the end of the month!


    October was such a great month! We loved watching the kids grow more confident, creative, and comfortable with our daily routines. From exploring nocturnal animals to making our galaxy art sparkle, every moment was filled with curiosity and joy. As we move into November, we’re so excited to dive into our new theme — Pumpkins & Fall! 🎃🍁 We’ll be exploring the colors of autumn, doing cozy fall crafts, and of course, learning all about pumpkins. It’s going to be a month full of warmth, wonder, and autumn fun!

Pete the Cat Helped Us Rock Our First Month of School!  September was such an exciting month as we kicked off a brand-new school year. We learned all about making friends, exploring our classroom, and getting into the groove of school routines. To make it even more fun, we had a Pete the Cat theme, because starting school is all about rocking our shoes, trying new things, and keeping a positive attitude. We’re off to a groovy start, and we can’t wait to share all the fun learning ahead and all the fun activities we did this month! September was all about learning how to be part of our school family and getting into the rhythm of our daily routines.
